La protection et la réutilisation du patrimoine industriel moderne se fonde sur l’étude historique de l’industrie. L’analogie avec la protection du patrimoine industriel en Occident est un moyen très important pour explorer la stratégie de protection locale. L’industrie moderne de la ville de Wuhan s’est développée pendant cent ans en trois phases : genèse, croissance et enfin déclin. Cet article illustre l’évolution des zones industrielles de la ville à travers ces différentes phases. L’analyse de la situation actuelle du patrimoine industriel révèle les difficultés et la fragilité de ce dernier. Dans le but de réutiliser ces friches industrielles, l’article propose une reconnaissance des valeurs d’origine de ces sites, puis une évaluation des valeurs actuelles permettant leur réutilisation. Sans mésestimer les diverses contraintes, cet article suggère d’établir ou de compléter la politique concernée afin d’assurer une réappropriation et une réutilisation plus ciblées et plus pertinentes.
Nowadays, the protection and the reuse of industrial heritage are based on the studies of industry history. Comparing with the protection of industrial heritage in western countries is one of the important ways to explore the local protection strategies. After a century’s development, modern industry of Wuhan has experienced three phases: origins, growth and finally decline. This paper illustrates the development of the industrial areas of the city through these phases. The analysis of the current situation of industrial heritage reveals the difficulties and the fragility of it. In order to reuse these brownfield, this paper proposes a recognition of the original values of these sites and an evaluation of current values for reuse. Without underestimating the various constraints, this paper suggests to establish and complete the policy to ensure reclaiming and reuse with a way more targeted and more pertinent.
